Is porn a common behavioural addiction in Australia?

A recent Yahoo News report published: Is porn a public health crisis? It states Utah may become the first state to declare pornography a public health crisis, with a state senator introducing a resolution to recognize a range of “societal harms” from the “epidemic.”

The article refers to a report and Utah lawmakers are considering making it the first US State to declare pornography a public health crisis, similar to cigarettes.

In the interview Senator Weiler says he hopes people acknowledge that pornography is actually addictive, that it’s harmful to families and relationships.

Addiction to porn is one of many behavioural addictions we have here in Australia. Addictions such as gambling, gaming, sex addiction and less common addictions like eating paper are all addictive disorders that need to be prevented, managed and treated effectively.
